Each year, hundreds of thousands of people from all parts of the world find their way to the ashram of Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, South India. For many visitors, encountering Sai Baba not only results in an altered consciousness and a whole new outlook on life, but in the transformation of their hearts.

Among the visitors are many from Denmark. Twenty-one Danes were interviewed for this book; they tell about their unique journeys to Sai Baba. They come from varying social backgrounds and different occupations: author, businessman, director of finance, editor, educator, teacher, physical therapist, tour guide, professor, etc. They all respond to such questions as: How did Sai Baba enter your life? Why were you receptive to his teachings? Were you a spiritual seeker? How has Sai Baba had an impact on the way you now lead your life? How did you receive his grace and feel his love?

For some, awareness of Sai Baba began with a programme on the national Danish radio in 1979. Others have experienced his direct influence on their lives in the most amazing manners. The Danes share how they experience that Sai Baba’s life is his message. He works selflessly and continually for others, always stressing, ‘Love all, serve all’ and ‘Hands that help are holier than lips that pray.’

Many of the Danes have seen Sai Baba materialize vibhuti or holy ash and various objects out of thin air; others have experienced healings, inexplicable to medical science, of even life-threatening illnesses. Sai Baba’s power is universal love. Miracles are his ‘visiting cards’. His teaching of the unity of all religions has the greatest significance for some, while others are deeply affected when they learn that God lives in our hearts.

There is only one race – the race of humanity

There is only one language – the language of the heart

There is only one God – he is omnipresent!
