Salient points of Swami's discourse
Swami came out at 3.20
itself. As Swami came on to the stage He brought a number of guests with
Him. Those familiar included Mr. Birla, Dr Pillai from Singapore,
Dr.Manjunath and a few others. The bhajans went on for some time and Mr.
sanjay Sahani was called onto the stage to speak. At 3.40 Sanjay
started his speech. He spoke on the four stages in the spiritual
journey- Saalokyam, saameepyam, saroopyam and Saayujyam. Swami rose at 4
PM to speak. Given below are the salient points of the speech.
>
Without Sathya
,dharma, Shanti and prema all the education one may receive, all the
charity one may indulge in ,the good deeds performed and positions of
power occupied come to a naught. These four are the pillars of the
mansion of Sanathana dharma.
>
Descent of God
occurs with dual consciousness-jeeva prajna and daiva Prajna.The descent
is because of His causeless love.
>
When the
gopikas complained to Yashoda about the mischief of Krishna, He defended
Himself saying that having been with her through out He could not have
indulged in all these. The pots He broke were symbolic of the body
consciosness He destroyed
>
God Manifests
to set ideals and it is wrong to super impose human qualities on Him.
Everything He does has the sole objective of redeeming the devotee.
>
Since you are
God yourself there is no need to ‘journey’ to God. In this context, it
is foolish to even attribute a specific form to God. ‘Mamaivamso
jeeva loke jeeva bhoota sanathanaha’.
>
Your true name
is ‘I’. All others including the names like Rama and Krishna have been
given by the parents after birth. Have the conviction to declare ‘ I am
GOD’. Multiplicity of names and forms is a delusion. Is it not strange
that being atma yourself you are searching for the atma!
>
Life is a
limited company and one must observe the limits strictly. Else limitless
problems follow.
>
Reduce your
sensual desires and develop a sense of courage and adventure to follow
the path.
>
You are
yourself peace and Truth. It is desires that separate you from peace. ‘Less
luggage more comfort makes travel a pleasure’.
>
Develop the
attitude that everything that happens is good for you. Remember that you
are not manavaakara but maadhava tatva. Do not allow wicked thoughts to
enter your heart.
>
Whatever may
change, Love and Truth will not.
Swami then
sat down and sang ‘Premamudhita manase kaho’
Swami then
asked students to sing bhajans and group songs. Aarathi and prasadam
distribution followed.
